Baptism
“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
Romans 6:4
Baptism is far more than a public declaration or a religious ritual; it is a profound spiritual burial and resurrection. When we go down into the water, we are participating in the death and burial of Jesus Christ. We are laying our old, broken selves to rest once and for all.
Being baptized in the name of Jesus is an act of total surrender and identification with Him. It is the sacred moment we explicitly take on His name, His grace, and His authority over our lives.
When we rise from the water, we are raised into a brand new life. The old has definitively passed away. Baptism marks the threshold where we leave our past at the bottom of the water and step into our future as a new creation, empowered by His Spirit.
