The Blood
“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.”
Ephesians 1:7
Throughout scripture, the concept of sacrifice is profoundly central to forgiveness. The penalty for sin—the deep fracture in our relationship with God—was ultimately death. Perfect justice required a payment.
But God, in His infinite mercy and staggering love, provided the ultimate sacrifice. Jesus Christ, completely without sin, willingly shed His blood on the cross. His blood was not just a tragic symbol; it was the definitive payment that satisfied the righteous requirements of justice.
Through the blood of Jesus, the debt against us is completely canceled. It washes away guilt, breaks the relentless power of sin, and opens the door for us to step confidently back into the presence of God, clean and justified.
